I echo the setiments of the OP... this is totally amazing, but it is pretty scary at the same time. All i can imagine is 3000 flagella ripping my grey matter apart. FROM THE INSIDE.
So the Russian riot cops go by the ominous acronym OMOH. They spent their time one grey afternoon busting up a LGBTA demonstration. I mean... you can't make this shit up.
More pics at the source, English Russia. Just in case you missed it... that is HOMO backwards.
I wanted a new bag to tote around my laptop, that had some higher level of organization than my messenger bag which was a huge single opening. Just saw these awesome new laptop bags and organizers online, so i am taking a shot to see what they are like. Will give impressions when i get mine in the mail.
Here are two shots that show their cool organizing board:
Totally crazy and insightful science bit about the visual magic of curveballs with animated visual illusion to demonstrate the nuts and bolts of the magic.
Jesse Ventura is awesome. I have, of course, been a fan since his days as "The Bod".
In the event you are not in agreement i present two quotes from his Larry King appearance:
1. "[Water-boarding] is torture... It's drowning. It gives you the complete sensation that you are drowning. It is no good, because you -- I'll put it to you this way, you give me a water board, Dick Cheney and one hour, and I'll have him confess to the Sharon Tate murders."
2. "I don't have a lot of respect for Dick Cheney. Here's a guy who got five deferments from the Vietnam War. Clearly, he's a coward. He wouldn't go when it was his time to go. And now he is a chicken hawk. Now he is this big tough guy who wants this hardcore policy. And he's the guy that sanctioned all this torture by calling it enhanced interrogation."
Alright, so my wife made an excellent point last night, in the League doodle Harkness looks way out of place. The reason for that originally is because i have yet to really find a way to render women with my rubber hose style i have been working on. Well i scoured the net, looked at some early 40s animation stuff, plagiarized from McBess, and what have you.
That said, here is my redo of the original with the new Harkness. What do you think?
I was making a desktop for a co-worker, and he wanted a Bauhaus theme... not the sweet band, but the cultural movement.
So i googled a bunch of Mies Van der Rohe and "Bauhaus" stuff and tried my hand at Photoshop collage. Have to admit i am pretty happy with how it came out. Even snuck some Kandinsky in.
then go read this blog entry about child vaccines... i felt like the headline is a bit of an exaggeration, but i found the article really fascinating. The New McCarthyism
this months text snippet was: “The harper began to sing. His deep voice was fine and sweet, eloquently expressing his intent. He sang of the bitterness of defeat and the gut-wrenching carnage of war. He sang of boys…”

I couldn't resist linking to this drawing by Rick Veitch. This is a commission piece he just completed recently, and i think his window for commissions is still open. Go check out his site and get something drawn. The guy is a modern master for sure.
My google reader is way backed up right now, and i almost just zapped everything i missed over the past couple of days. I am very glad i didn't because Same Hat has broken the incredibly sad news that Kiyoshiro Imawano is dead at 58.
Now you are probably like... who?! But don't worry i have found an excellent youtube video to demonstrate how awesome he is, and a link to the Same Hat entry about this great dude. For those of you who have seen Happiness of the Katakuris he would be the guy who played Richard.
For anyone who liked that Red Riding Hood video i posted recently (Nick) comes this fantastic animation loosely about the subprime meltdown. Who really cares what it is about though, it looks really really sweet.
